La evaluación de los aprendizajes en un currículo organizado en competencias posibilita una mejor articulación entre los aprendizajes referidos al conocer, al hacer y al ser; el vínculo de estos aprendizajes coadyuvan a un desenvolvimiento adecuado, oportuno y ético que se pone de manifiesto en diferentes contextos.
Así mismo, permite comprender lo que sucede en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje a través de la reflexión continua de lo que se hace, para anticipar los posibles avances y deficiencias o errores experimentados en dicho proceso y, conforme a esta reflexión, aprender de la experiencia y tomar decisiones asertivas que posibiliten, entre otras cosas, corregir errores, intensificar esfuerzos personales y colectivos, perfeccionar lo realizado y solucionar problemas en un marco participativo y ético de cara a obtener mayores niveles de aprendizaje.
