0:05	Hey, I'm Andy, and I teach English.
0:09	Today's lesson is a busy day in the past progressive.
0:15	Yesterday, I was walking the dog when my phone rang.
0:21	It was my boss. A teacher was feeling sick,
0:26	so she needed me to fill in.
0:31	As I was running to my car, it started to rain.
0:38	When I arrived at the school,
0:41	my boss was waiting outside.
0:45	She told me another teacher's car broke down.
0:51	I was working rest of the day.
0:55	So, why use the past progressive?
0:59	One reason is to show the order of events.
1:04	And how do you use the past progressive?
1:09	Write a subject, plus a form of "to be," plus a verb-ing.
1:19	For example: You were saying...
1:23	It was snowing,
1:25	They were laughing.
1:28	All right, your turn. Fill in the blanks. Click pause.
1:44	What were you doing yesterday?
1:48	Next time, we will learn about the present perfect.
