Have students investigate which traditions we live in Guatemala in December.
Intermediate PhaseEditar
Students should list all the traditions they can think of.

At home, students should ask parents or guardians what their favorite end of the year tradition is.

Initial PhaseEditar
Provide a few minutes for students to compare their answers from homework.
Intermediate PhaseEditar
Have teams brainstorm on the topic “What end of the year tradition is the favorite one in our community?”
Wrap upEditar
Have students investigate the history of fiambre (or another traditional dish).
Session 36, Period 3Editar
Initial PhaseEditar
Have students tell what they know about fiambre. See “Fiambre: A History of Guatemala's Most Famous Dish” for reference.[1]
Intermediate PhaseEditar
Have students write a short paragraph stating which tradition from Guatemala they like best.
