Initial Phase[editar | editar código]

Have students divide into groups of 3. Have them investigate about the lives of successful Guatemalans.

Students should plan for an interview with a successful Guatemalans and identify what they would like to ask them. Help students with vocabulary. Have them use the dictionary and provide sample sentences.

Students should ask two family members if they know who the person they are working about in class is. They should also ask them what they would like to ask the successful Guatemalan if they had the chance.

Session 6, Period 2[editar | editar código]

Have each group present to the class their finding about the successful Guatemalan they have been researching.

Intermediate Phase[editar | editar código]

Students should use a wikipedia-en:Venn diagram to show similarities and differences between the successful Guatemalans they have investigated about.

Write on the board the characteristics of the people they have researched, focusing on goal setting in their lives.

Use the materials presented by the group that researched Luis von Ahn to introduce the class.

Pose the following review questions:

Q/ Who is this person?
A/ Luis von Ahn
Q/ Where is this person from? (obviously they should know by know)
A/ From Guatemala.

Checkpoint: List some characteristics of this Guatemalan entrepreneur. Have them write sentences explaining what they think his goals in life are, according to the video. Watch the video again if necessary.

Sistema social para expresar ideas y manifestarlas al prójimo. Este sistema existe dentro de un entorno social (sistema social) y un sistema lingüístico (ejemplos son el español, francés, k’iche’, kaqchikel, etc.) Tienen que existir ambos sistemas para que pueda existir la comunicación.
